In an open Q&A session, the PCF team and community experts discussed the latest Rulebook Version 4 updates and invited feedback for continuous improvement.

The Catena-X PCF team recently hosted a public Q&A session to present and discuss the new Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) Rulebook Version 4. Leading experts from the Catena-X community introduced the main updates and answered participant questions.
Key topics covered:
- Introduction and Key Changes – Overview of the most important updates and transition period for Rulebook V4 (Andreas Kircher – Aumovio SE)
- Data Model (incl. Biogenic Uptake) – Major update of the PCF data model, including biogenic carbon uptake and improved interoperability (Florian Ansgar Jaeger – Siemens AG)
- Prospective PCF – New rules for calculating PCFs for future products and product changes (Stephan Neuschaefer-Rube – Schaeffler Technologies AG & Co. KG)
- Electricity Accounting – Inclusion of infrastructure emissions and updated calculation guidance for electricity (Ansgar Christ – Bosch GmbH)
