The association defines technical standards, fosters cross-company collaboration throughout the value chain, and supports its members through knowledge sharing and networking. Organized into the Executive Board, Operational Office, Advisory Board, and specialized working groups, Catena-X ensures efficient and interoperable cooperation across the ecosystem.

The Catena-X Automotive Network e.V. is developing an open and standardized data ecosystem for industry.
Key responsibilities of the association
The Catena-X association coordinates the development of a standardized, open data ecosystem. Its members work in expert groups to define technical standards and certification frameworks. Core tasks also include:
- Managing strategic partnerships
- Providing training and information resources
- Overseeing release and version management
- Selecting and commissioning operating companies, clearing houses, and conformity assessment bodies
- Supporting international networking and collaboration with industry associations
Advisory Board
The Advisory Board consists of seven high-level representatives from politics, academia, and industry. It advises the Executive Board on strategic and cross-sector topics.
