TISAX Level 2 Mandatory for Catena-X Certified Solution Providers by July 2025

Strengthening Security and Compliance Across the Catena-X Ecosystem

Berlin, Germany, February 21, 2025 – Catena-X, the first collaborative data ecosystem for the automotive industry, is reinforcing its commitment to data security and compliance by introducing mandatory TISAX Level 2 certification for all certified Business Application Providers (BAP), Onboarding Service Providers (OSP) and Enablement Service Providers (ESP) within the Catena-X ecosystem. Core Service Providers (A and B) are required to ensure TISAX level 3 compliance on top. This requirement will take effect in July 2025 with a grace period of 12 months. With this decision Catena-X enhances trust and safeguards data exchange across all partners in the value chain.

TISAX (Trusted Information Security Assessment Exchange) is a globally recognized standard in the automotive industry, ensuring consistent and secure information handling between business partners. Catena-X acknowledges the importance of existing certifications to minimize administrative efforts for participants while maintaining the highest security standards within the ecosystem.

Action Required for Solution Providers:
All Catena-X solution providers are required to review and update their TISAX certification to meet the new compliance standards by July 2025. If you have any questions or require further guidance, please contact Ann-Kathrin Krause, Certification and Governance Manager at Catena-X [ann-kathrin.krause[@]catena-x[.]net].

By adhering to these strengthened security measures, we continue to build a trusted, interoperable, and future-ready data ecosystem for the entire automotive industry.
