Catena-X Establishes Hub in Shanghai – Driving Global Standards in the Automotive Industry

The Catena-X Shanghai hub will act as a regional representative and physical showroom

Catena-X announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Shanghai Data Service Provider Association (SDSPA) and the People's Government of Anting Town, Jiading District, Shanghai, to establish the Catena-X China hub (Shanghai) and onboard the local automotive sector.

As one of the world's largest automotive markets, China is not only a key supplier but also home to major manufacturers. By establishing a local hub in Shanghai, Catena-X is reinforcing its commitment to fostering global collaboration and driving adoption of the standards across all segments of the automotive industry – manufacturers, suppliers, and key stakeholders alike. This hub will act as a vital bridge for a sovereign and seamless cross-border data exchange between companies around the globe, driving transparency, efficiency, and compliance throughout the entire global automotive value chain.

Key Focus of the Catena-X Shanghai Hub:

  • Local and Global Activation: The hub will play a fundamental role in educating and activating of local and global partners on sovereign cross-border data exchange, facilitating better collaboration across the globe in line with regional compliance requirements.
  • Multi-Tier-Collaboration: The hub will help to connect key players across the automotive supply chain, ensuring that data can flow smoothly from tier X suppliers to manufacturers and even recyclers, increasing efficiency and resiliency.
  • Driving Catena-X Standards: The collaboration aims to increase the adoption of Catena-X standards in China, enabling local automotive companies to participate seamlessly in the global ecosystem and participate in shaping future standards.
